In the last few days, things have picked up around the Cleveland Browns in their pursuit of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant as he's expected to visit with the team on Thursday.

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley has voiced that although he's intrigued by what the young wide receivers on the team could bring to the table in 2018, he is more than up for bringing aboard Bryant, according to Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com.

If Dez Bryant, who obviously has been a good player in this league, is in that mix, he’s going to be coached like everybody else,” Haley said Wednesday before the 15th practice of training camp. “I tell everybody that shows up here we don’t care about what means you get here, if you’re willing to put your hand in the pile and work and be part of moving forward and having success, I’m all for it.

“I’m excited about these young guys. I really am. I mean, that being said, if guys are willing to come in here and guys with the pedigrees and resumes like somebody like [Bryant], I mean, of course, we’re going to accept him and coach the heck out of him. But the young group is a group to be encouraged about. It’s not just one or two. There’s a group of them. We’re just looking again for a couple guys to kind of separate themselves from the others.”

The Browns have undergone much restructuring of their roster this offseason has seen some major changes to their group of wide receivers. This has seen the addition of Pro Bowl wideout Jarvis Landry along with the departure of Corey Coleman in a trade to the Buffalo Bills earlier this month. This has potentially opened the way for their younger players at the position such as Antonio Callaway and Rashad Higgins to make headway.

That said, the addition of Bryant would give them another proven wide receiver that could immediately step in as a high-impact player for the franchise. He has shown throughout his career that he is a legitimate red zone threat that could be a game-changing factor in the game. This coupled with the chance to play alongside Landry, and the expected return of Josh Gordon could work wonders for him in Cleveland that could bring the best out of him.

There is plenty of potential for this likely acquisition to be a major benefit for the Browns' passing game with yet another star wide receiver to the mix.
