Baker Mayfield was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and it didn’t take him long to make an impact for the Cleveland Browns. Even after Hue Jackson made Tyrod Taylor his starting quarterback, Mayfield was able to get his first meaningful action in the third game of the season. Not only did he make his debut, he led the Browns to a win over the New York Jets.

Looking ahead to Week 4, Mayfield has won the starting job. He will make his first career start against the Oakland Raiders on the road.

Cleveland fans finally have a reason to be excited about their team. It has been a long time since a young quarterback looked like he was expected to. Johnny Manziel seemed to struggle from the beginning, but Mayfield is already receiving high praise from nearly everyone that saw him play.

In his Week 3 performance, Mayfield completed 17 of his 23 passing attempts for 201 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. He did catch a two-point conversion off of a trick play from wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

At just 23 years old, Mayfield is now the face of Cleveland. LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Browns haven’t had a face in a long time. Mayfield is ready to take that role and run with it.
