As we enter the 2022 NFL offseason, few teams have as murky a quarterback future as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only do they not have their starting quarterback, Tom Brady, under contract for 2022, but they do not even know if the 43-year-old Brady will even want to continue his football career. After all, he has already won seven Super Bowls (most all-time) and proven that he can win without Bill Belichick when he won the 2021 Super Bowl.

For as good of a player as Brady has been on the field over the last two decades, though, he has been equally as passionate about his family. Brady discussed the impacts that his wife and kids have had on his ability to keep playing while chatting on his “Let's Go” podcast on Monday:

“It pains her to see me get hit out there. And she deserves what she needs from me as a husband and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad. I said this a few years ago, it's what relationships are all about. It's not always what I want. It's what we want as a family. And I'm gonna spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what's next.” -Tom Brady

Those comments certainly sound like Brady is seriously contemplating retirement for the first time in his life. What has been a marvelous career may be coming to an end, but for now, we can all just hope that he gives us one more magical year with the Buccaneers.
