Recently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers awarded offensive lineman Donovan Smith with a three-year contract extension, and Smith didn't seem to be the only person who was thrilled about the deal.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan used Smith's re-signing as a sales pitch for Jordan's teammate, fellow defensive lineman Alex Okafor, who is a free agent:

Smith then responded to Jordan's comment by posting a photo of himself blocking Okafor.

He then later told JoeBucsFan.com that he knows Jordan and that the Saints pass rusher was “just having fun.” Smith also said that he and the Buccaneers will see Jordan, Okafor and Co. twice a year.

Smith, who played his collegiate football at Penn State University, was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the second round (34th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He was immediately cast as the starting left tackle during his rookie campaign, playing in all 16 games.

Since then, the Hempstead, N.Y. native has not missed a start, and while he has certainly had some questionable performances against New Orleans, he has been an all-around solid force along the Bucs' offensive line throughout his four seasons in the NFL.

The Bucs are coming off of a season in which they won just five games. They have not made the playoffs since the 2007-08 campaign, marking the longest postseason drought in the NFC. Only the Cleveland Browns have been out of the playoffs longer, as they have not notched a postseason berth since the 2002-03 season.

At the beginning of the offseason, the Bucs fired Dirk Koetter as its head coach and replaced him with Bruce Arians.
