The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have long been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Tom Brady, but up until now, no one took them all that seriously.

Well, it might be time for the doubters to start changing their tune.

According to Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers are going “all in” on Brady, with Stroud adding that the idea of Tampa Bay signing the quarterback is not “hype” nor “fantasy.”

Stroud notes that Bucs head coach Bruce Arians would prefer to move on from Jameis Winston and that Brady is at the top of the club's quarterback wish list, with Teddy Bridgewater and Philip Rivers following.

Of course, the question isn't whether or not the Buccaneers want Brady; it's does Brady want the Buccaneers?

Brady has spent the first 20 years of his NFL career with the New England Patriots, leading the team to six Super Bowl titles. Tampa Bay has not even approached that type of success.

Yes, the Bucs won a Super Bowl in Brady's third season back in 2002-03, but since then, the Buccaneers have been one of the league's least successful franchises.

As a matter of fact, the Buccaneers have not made the playoffs since the 2007-08 campaign, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFC.

That being said, Tampa Bay does have some interesting offensive talent, ranging from wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to tight end O.J. Howard. Even young running back Ronald Jones is intriguing.

But whether or not Brady would seriously leave the Patriots for a franchise that has been one of the NFL's worst over the last decade-plus remains to be seen.
