Tom Brady has worn the No. 12 for his entire career. Not only that, but he has built his entire TB12 brand off of it. So, it's only natural to assume that he would want to keep that jersey number in his new Tampa Bay Buccaneers threads.

The problem is, wide receiver Chris Godwin has been wearing the No. 12 for the Buccaneers.

But good news for Brady: Godwin offered up his number to Brady, who gratefully accepted the offer, according to Scott Smith of Tampa Bay's team website.

Godwin will change his number to 14.

The Bucs signed Brady to a two-year deal at the onset of free agency, ending Brady's illustrious 20-year run with the New England Patriots.

During Brady's time with the Patriots, he won six Super Bowl titles and established himself as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

However, with Brady turning 43 years old by the start of next season, New England did not want to commit major money to the veteran, and Brady seemed to feel underappreciated by head coach Bill Belichick.

Add that up, and you get Brady bolting Foxborough for the Buccaneers.

Brady is actually coming off a rather rough 2019 campaign in which he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 88.0. As a result, Brady missed the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2008, when he was knocked out for the season in Week 1 due to a torn ACL.

But perhaps an impressive set of weapons in Tampa Bay that includes Godwin and fellow wideout Mike Evans will be enough for the GOAT to turn things around.
