As the Milwaukee Bucks prepare to open their 2018-19 NBA season on Wednesday, October 17 against the Charlotte Hornets, there is some major news for the franchise. Fans have been slowing warming up to the Bucks and their ticket sales have shown that.

According to a report from Darren Rovell of ESPN, the Bucks have sold 10,000 season tickets for the first time in team history. They have not come close to that number in the past. Back in the 1988-89 season, the Bucks were able to sell 8,985, which was their team record to this point in time.

Jamie Morningstar, the Bucks' senior vice president of ticket sales, talked about the achievement for the team.

“This is such a major moment for the Bucks organization. There's an incredible buzz about the team and Fiserv Forum, and people from all over Wisconsin are excited to be part of it.”

Wisconsin fans are some of the best in the country. They have always been massive Green Bay Packers fans and the Wisconsin Badgers also have a diehard fan base. Milwaukee has not seen the same kind of passion about the Bucks, but that seems to be changing.

Not only should fans be excited about the Bucks, but the team should also be excited about their chances in the Eastern Conference this season. They may not end up winning the conference, but they are headed in the right direction.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the biggest stars in the NBA and should compete for the MVP award this season. Add in the supporting cast around him that includes Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, Thon Maker, Malcolm Brogdon, and Brook Lopez, and the Bucks have a deep roster.

The Bucks deserve to see this kind of spike in season-ticket sales. They are going to be fun to watch this season and it would not be surprising to see their sales increase even more next year.
