The Milwaukee Bucks remain the favorite to be Bobby Portis' landing spot in 2022 NBA free agency. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Bucks have a four-year deal worth over $40 million ready for Portis to ink this offseason, and he “seems destined” to sign it.

Portis will be an unrestricted free agent on Thursday, and he has definitely generated plenty of interest from other parties, thanks to his play in Milwaukee in recent years.  The former Arkansas Razorbacks star appears to have found a home with the Bucks, with whom he has played the last two seasons. In the 2021-22 NBA campaign, Portis averaged career highs of 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds.

Portis stepped up big time during the run to the 2021 NBA title and in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, especially after Khris Middleton went down with an injury. His size, rebounding, and ability to stretch the floor make a lot of positive things happen for Milwaukee, and his fit alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo can't be denied. In fact, in the last playoffs, Portis and Antetokounmpo had an offensive rating of 103.9 and a defensive rating of 90.7 when they were on the floor together.

Having Portis back would also ensure the Bucks a beefy frontcourt that already has Brook Lopez and Antetokounmpo. They could also have veteran Serge Ibaka, who has a player option he can exercise worth $9.7 million.
