Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo took to Twitter to ask a question many people in quarantine have asked themselves:

The much-awaited PlayStation 5 video game console is bound to release later this year, with Sony hinting at a Holiday 2020 drop.

PlayStation 5's lead system architect Mark Cerny recently gave a spec-by-spec lecture on how the console works under the hood, including the evolution of its highly improved swappable Solid State Drive (SSD):

Yet video game players like Antetokounmpo are hoping the console's release can speed up a bit, considering most people are bound to spend the next few weeks (and likely months) inside.

In an interview with Wired, Cerny said that the PlayStation 5 would not be available before April 2020 — something that will likely frustrate a lot of the fan base, including the Bucks star.

PS5's immediate competitor, the Microsoft Xbox X series, is slated to release on Nov. 26, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, buying both companies at least a year of shelf time before prices start to decline.

Players like Ben Simmons, Karl-Anthony Towns, Devin Booker, and Kyle Kuzma have proven to be avid gamers, streaming Call of Duty matches on Twitch almost daily during this unofficial quarantine period.

The NBA advised its players to remain isolated and in their respective markets, though some have been allowed to return to their hometowns, so long as it's part of the United States. No international travel is being permitted at the time in hopes to contain the coronavirus.

Giannis and the Bucks are hoping the season will resume given they had the best record in the NBA before the hiatus.
