Throughout the course of this regular season, the Milwaukee Bucks' All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has continued to impress with his highlight-worthy plays and solid performances during games. These have made him a starter in the All-Star Game, where he played a lot of minutes for Team Stephen on Sunday night.

However, Antetokounmpo revealed that he wasn't at 100 percent health heading into the break and that he had been experiencing some pain in his knee.

The Greek Freak already knows what's causing it. Antetokounmpo saw a doctor and was told that the discomfort was due to playing too much and that he needs to rest it more, according to an interview he had with Eurohoops' Varlas Nikos.

“The problem is that I play too much.”

“No, it’s just that I have to rest more. This summer I had no time to rest. After the playoffs, I went straight to the gym. I went to see Kostas and practiced for about a week and a half with him.

“I didn’t have any rest. And that’s how the situation deteriorated. After this season, I will have time to rest.”

While this can be seen as a concerning development for the Bucks, the good news is that Antetokounmpo remains focused on the task on hand and is looking at the offseason as his time to rest his knee. However, the Bucks may also give him additional night offs as the season progresses to allow him to lessen the toll his knees are taking.

Antetokounmpo has been enjoying his best season in the NBA with career-high averages of 27.8 points and 10.4 rebounds, to go along with 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 37.0 minutes per game. He has led his team's charge and made it possible for them to be in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 32-25 record, looking to upset some of the title favorites once the playoffs start.
