Alex Antetokounmpo recently signed a three-year deal with Spanish outfit Murcia — something that has gotten the full backing of his brother, reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks superstar took to Twitter to share his delight in his younger brother's huge career move:

Alex recently graduated from Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, where he averaged 20.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season. He reportedly declined a couple of NCAA Division I scholarships to pursue a professional career abroad.

Alex is not the first big-name player to opt to take the professional route, as opposed to taking the familiar NCAA path. Recently, five-star recruits such as Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd decided to sign with the G League instead of going to college. Financially, it makes more sense, and to some, it might even prove to be a more effective path in terms of pursuing their NBA dreams. It's not as if Alex needs the money, though, so as it seems, this move is more from a career standpoint.

It is worth noting that Alex is going to be eligible for the NBA Draft by 2021. While he is indeed a talented prospect, there is no denying that he will also be a highly touted player because of his brother, Giannis, who incidentally will also enter free agency in 2021 if he doesn't sign an extension with Milwaukee. The Bucks will present Giannis with a supermax offer, but there's no guarantee that he signs it.
