Hall of Famer Marques Johnson sends out encouraging tweet for Bucks ahead of must-win Game 6
NBA Hall of Famer and former Milwaukee Bucks star Marques Johnson offered some words of encouragement to the ball club he spent his first seven seasons in, as they stare at a 3-2 hole on their way to Canada for a must-win Game 6.
The Fox Sports Wisconsin analyst took to Twitter to rally up the troops.
@Bucks we are so very proud of how you have shown determination and fight all season. You have exceeded expectations we had from the start. This year has been a successful one on many levels. On the eve of Game 6, down 2-3, do your best, #keepyourheadup

The Bucks have been dominating opponents all season long finishing with a league-best 60-22 record, their best since the 1980-81 season (which featured Johnson) at the forefront of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo who is heavily-favored as the league’s Most Valuable Player. This dominance extended into the playoffs with a sweep of the Detroit Pistons and dispatching a consecutive Conference Finalist in the Boston Celtics and their vaunted defensive wall 4-1.
Milwaukee appeared to be on their way of handing out a similar fate to the Toronto Raptors after going up 2-0 with many already penciling their calendars for a long-expected showdown with the defending champions the Golden State Warriors. But after a switch in the defensive gameplan, assigning Kawhi Leonard on Antetokounmpo, and the unexpected contributions of some bench players, the tide has shifted and the Raptors are now on top with a 3-2 lead after winning the last three games.
The outlook isn’t so good for the Bucks this series as they trek to Scotiabank Arena (where they are winless this postseason) in an attempt to salvage their championship hopes. But stranger things have happened in this year’s playoffs, and Antetokounmpo and company are hoping that the same luck plays in their favor too.
