The Milwaukee Bucks made more history on Monday when they visited the Miami Heat.

The Bucks absolutely torched the defending Eastern Conference champs and knocked down 29 threes to set a new NBA record for most triples in a game. Needless to say, it was a blowout contest as Milwaukee's red-hot shooting didn't even give the Heat a chance.

The Bucks shot lights out from distance right from the get-go and took an early advantage against Miami. Milwaukee ended up shooting 29-51 from deep en route to a huge 144-97 win–which is coincidentally the franchise's most lopsided away victory.

It was Bucks rookie Sam Merill who put the team in the history books, as he knocked down the team's 28th trey, which put Milwaukee ahead of the Houston Rockets who initially set the record for most threes in 2019 with 27.

Jrue Holiday led the way for Milwaukee with six triples (6-of-10) for 24 points. Khris Middleton–who scored a game-high of 25–shot 4-of-5 from deep while Donte DiVincenzo added five more. These three Bucks already outshot the entire Heat team. who only made 11 threes on Monday.

With the Bucks shooting automatic from 3-point distance, they didn't need the reigning back-to-back MVP that much. Giannis Antetokounmpo actually struggled on Monday and was the only starter to score in single-digits as he ended with just nine points. The Greek Freak was also the only player from the team to fail to convert a trey as he shot 0-of-2 from long-distance.

The Bucks have a chance to do an encore performance on Wednesday as they face Miami for the second time in two nights. The Heat would probably have to adjust their defense or the alignment of their rims to make sure Milwaukee don't do a repeat.
