The Chicago Bulls received $1,566,570 from the Houston Rockets in the Carmelo Anthony trade, but they aren't going to get the money all at once.
According to salary cap guru Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report and Basketball Insiders, the Rockets will pay the Bulls 10 installments of $66,657, and then a single payment of $900,000 before July.

The Bulls love their money. They traded Jordan Bell to the Golden State Warriors in 2017 for $3.5 million. Bell has turned out to be a great young player for Golden State, while Chicago is a walking disaster and probably won't even use that $3.5 million to improve the roster.
Many of the fans in Chicago know what Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf's agenda is. Because the franchise has six championships and is one of the most famous teams in the world, there is a belief that Reinsdorf only cares about the other team which he owns, the Chicago White Sox.

As for Carmelo Anthony, Chicago will reportedly part ways with him near the Feb. 7 trade deadline. Anthony appeared in just 10 games with the Rockets and wasn't a good fit at all.
Many believe LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will take a chance on Anthony next.
