The Chicago Bulls have been on the lookout for potential options to run the front office, with Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti and Toronto Raptors president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri being two of the most well-regarded options on the list.

The Raptors are unlikely to let go of Ujiri. Presti, the next-best option, would be allowed to leave if he wanted to, considering his tight-knit relationship with Thunder owner Clay Bennett.

The question remains whether Presti would like to leave his position with the Thunder.

OKC is no longer a major threat in the West ever since Kevin Durant for the Golden State Warriors. While this is a team in the midst of a quasi-rebuild, the Thunder have stockpiled a bevy of draft picks in the trades for Paul George and Russell Westbrook, giving them a king's ransom for future opportunities.

Presti is by no means an up-and-comer. To get him a seat with Bulls president and chief operating officer Michael Reinsdorf, it would take at least $9 to $10 million, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, which makes a potential deal highly unlikely.

The Bulls aren't known to be a high-spending team,. They're not that way with players or with their basketball operations. That alone makes this a tough route, considering Presti is one of the best-regarded minds in basketball.

The odds are the Bulls opt to restructure their front office by shifting roles around and spend their money putting basketball-savvy minds to work in a multi-pronged approach.
