Former NBA guard and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose says the Chicago Bulls need to fire Jim Boylen and hire a new coach.

Rose, who played for the Bulls during his NBA career, explained why Chicago has been underachieving because of Boylen:

“I'm going to say something about the underachieving Chicago Bulls: They need a new coach,” Rose said on ESPN's “Get Up,” via NBC Sports Chicago. “They really do because they have so much young talent on that squad and I don't think they are developing properly.”

The Bulls were expected to compete for a playoff spot this season. Chicago is only a game out of a playoff spot, but that's only because the back half of the Eastern Conference is so bad. The Bulls are 11th in the East with a 6-12 record.

It's very doubtful the Bulls will fire Boylen. VP John Paxson and GM Gar Forman love Boylen, even giving him a contract extension over the offseason for some reason.

Boylen had a mutiny on his hands last season and he's already gotten into a little spat with shooting guard Zach LaVine after benching the high-flyer against the Miami Heat. LaVine responded to the benching with 49 points and a game-winning shot versus the Charlotte Hornets, but it's pretty clear Zach and Boylen have a ways to go before they are on the same page.
