The Chicago Bulls won their third straight game after defeating the Miami Heat 119-111 at the United Center Monday night. The 6-foot-10 forward Nikola Mirotic is the one that sealed the deal for the Bulls’ victory.
Mirotic scored 18 points in the game, but what made this a special feat is that he scored all of them in the fourth quarter, he also contributed five rebounds and one assist.
His performance was a game-changer, as Mirotic spearheaded the team’s late rally at the final minutes of the game.
The Bulls will now prepare to snatch another victory on Wednesday when they face the Golden State Warriors at home. If they manage to do so, it would be their fourth win in a row.
Mirotic missed two games last week due to an undisclosed illness, it’s very evident that he has fully recovered after his most recent fourth-quarter surge. However, it’s expected that Mirotic will continue to have less playing time to give way for rookie Lauri Markkanen.
Meanwhile, Mirotic is also reported to be one of the Bulls’ trade candidates after he became eligible on Monday. However, that won’t mean that the Bulls are going to set him free as soon as possible.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, the team’s front office will take their time to analyze the best trade offers for Mirotic. The Montenegro international also said that he will leave the decision to his representatives.
Mirotic is averaging 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game this season. The Bulls have a record of 17-27 and are in the 12th spot of the Eastern Conference.
