The big reveal has finally been made, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 finally has a release date. Well ahead of the predicted reveal in June, Activision Blizzard has unveiled a new video, revealing the artwork to be used for the game's box art, as well as various promotional material.

In the trailer, various pieces of character art on tanker ships and shipping containers are shown in separate pieces, all until it leads up to show off the main character Ghost, as all the pieces are connected together. The trailer also teased appearances from Captain John Price, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and a new character, Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas. Those characters all create Task Force 141.

While no other details regarding the game have been revealed, it is still being predicted by many users that a full-blown gameplay demonstration will be showcased in June,  as various different events will be happening during the month, such as the Summer Game Fest and the Microsoft-Bethesda Showcase.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to the 2019 reboot of the same name, and the development of the game will be handled by Infinity Ward. Many details regarding the game are still unknown, but some early rumors suggest that the game's story will be focused on drug cartels in Columbia.

The overall public reception for the trailer has been very positive, as many fans have praised the teaser trailer for having such a dramatic reveal. Others are praising Infinity Ward's work as they rest assured that the campaign for the game will be worth the wait.
