Capcom records its fourth consecutive year high in profits for the financial year that ended in March 2021. This, in spite of all the issues that the global pandemic has had on its business. Most of the profits can be attributed to the success of Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Capcom's performance in terms of its Arcade Operations and Other Businesses took a great hit. The tightening protocols in Japan due to COVID-19 had an adverse effect on Capcom's arcade business. The other businesses part which takes care of both esports and films also received blows. The Arcade Division declined by 18.4% to $183 million and operating income down 87.7% at $1.4 million.

Thankfully, the video games department performed so well that they've offset these losses from the other departments. Monster Hunter Rise, released only towards the end of the financial year on March 26, 2021, already shipped 5 million. The total sales over the past year of Capcom's second-latest title, Resident Evil 3 Remake, also contributed to their revenues. Capcom noted that previous titles such as Monster Hunter World: Iceborne also helped in maintaining a healthy margin for the company. Thanks to the performance of World and Monster Hunter Rise, the franchise is starting to catch up with Resident Evil.

According to Capcom's latest financial report, the company earned about $860 million in net sales, which registered a 16.8% increase year-to-year. Operating income was up by 51.6%, and ordinary income by 51.8%, figuring at $318 million and $320 million respectively.

Capcom feels optimistic about the future, saying that they will continue to rely on long-tail sales to support its growth. They're already off a good start, with the success of Resident Evil Village already giving them a comfortable lead. Capcom forecasts a 4.9% growth in their next financial year, with both operating and ordinary income expected to increase to $386 million.
