At first glance, the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins' Tuesday night game seemed just like any other. With starter Adam Wainwright on the mound, the Cardinals were seeking to get back into the winning column with perhaps their best pitcher going for them. However, there was something incredible going on behind the scenes. Wainwright and his battery mate and Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina made MLB history with this epic record when they took the field for Tuesday's game, as tweeted out by the team.

Per the Cardinals' Twitter account, Wainwright and Molina are now third all-time on the MLB's list for most starts among battery mates in the history of baseball.

The two St. Louis veterans have made an incredible 307 starts together, which trails only the Detroit Tigers' Mickey Lolich-Bill Freehan and the Milwaukee Braves' Warren Spahn-Del Crandall battery mates.

Wainwright, 40, and Molina, 39, have been together on the Cardinals since the 2005 season. The veteran starter has won 185 games in his 17-year career, making three All-Star teams while winning a World Series title.

Meanwhile, Molina has earned 10 All-Star honors while winning a pair of World Series titles with the club. Now, the two can add an epic piece of MLB history to their impressive resumes.
