The hot rumor lately is that the Arizona Cardinals are seriously considering taking Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft next month and then flipping Josh Rosen elsewhere to make room for him.

However, ESPN's Adam Schefter has put the kibosh on this talk…for now.

Schefter reports that multiple teams did contact the Cardinals about trading for Rosen during the Scouting Combine last week but that Arizona gave no indication that it is ready to move its 2018 first-round pick.

However, Schefter added that this does not mean Arizona won't eventually field trade offers for Rosen, but just that they have not yet made their young signal-caller available.

It's entirely possible that the Cardinals genuinely don't know what they are going to do yet, which is why they have remained mum on Rosen thus far. However, if Arizona does end up drafting Murray, it seems hard to imagine the Cardinals keeping Rosen.

Plus, if the Cards play their hand now and give away their intentions, teams can then lowball them for Rosen, and Arizona would almost surely prefer to not trade the guy it took 10th overall last season for a bargain.

Rosen, who played his collegiate football at UCLA, had a very rough rookie campaign this past season, starting 13 games and throwing for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing just 55.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 66.7.

Murray, on the other hand, had a spectacular final season at Oklahoma, throwing 42 touchdown passes and just seven picks on his way to the Heisman Trophy.
