The Arizona Cardinals are making a move in the late stages of free agency. The team is signing veteran defensive tackle Terrell McClain to a one-year deal, per Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com.

Terms of the deal weren't immediately disclosed, but it's safe to say he didn't land anything too lucrative.

The South Florida product has officially reached journeyman status, as the Cardinals will be his seventh team. He originally entered the league as a third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2011. He only lasted one year in Carolina, then had brief stops with the Patriots and Texans.

He then found a home for himself in Dallas, and blossomed into a nice player with the Cowboys. That helped him land a four-year deal from the Redskins in 2017, but he lasted just one season with them as well. He latched on with the Falcons last season on a one-year deal worth $1.525 million.

In 13 games and five starts for Atlanta, McClain racked up 17 tackles and one sack. Primarily a run-stuffer, McClain could do a decent job clogging up lanes and taking on blocks for the Cardinals' new-look defense.

Arizona hired former Broncos coach Vance Joseph to be their new defensive coordinator this offseason, and Joseph likes to be aggressive.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury will be running an uptempo offense that will require his defense to be on the field for a lot of snaps, so they could use a deep defensive line rotation. That being said, it will be a mild surprise if McClain ends up doing all that much.

He's had a few good seasons in the past, but appears to be over the hill at this point.
