The Arizona Cardinals would love to put some more weapons around Kyler Murray, and Murray is pitching an old collegiate teammate to them as an option.

That former teammate is University of Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is one of the best receivers in this upcoming draft class and had his breakout season with Murray throwing him the ball in 2018.

Not only that, but Lamb also had Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts sandwiched around Murray as his quarterbacks during his three-year stint with the Sooners:

“Not many people can say they played with three Heisman finalists and two of them winning [the Heisman],” Lamb said, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “I think I had a great college career with a great group of quarterbacks.”

Lamb is coming off of a junior campaign in which he hauled in 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns, and now, he may be on his way to reuniting with Murray on the professional level, with Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury saying that Murray has been raving about the wide out:

“He’s his biggest proponent; that’s for sure,” said Kingsbury. “He would take him No. 1, hands down. We like that. We like that Kyler’s invested. He thinks very highly of CeeDee, and we do, too. He’s a great player. We’ll see how it all plays out.”

Lamb was happy to hear that Murray is campaigning for him:

“That’s my brother, man,” Lamb said of Murray. “It actually made me happy. The team is going to need what it needs. But Kyler telling coach Kingsbury that, it kinda made me smile a little bit, but like I said, if they need me they’ll come get me. If not, it’s okay.”

Arizona owns the eighth overall pick in the NFL Draft this spring.
