The Arizona Cardinals currently sit in third in the NFC. They're in a great spot to make a deep run in the postseason, as their 10-3 record makes them tied for first place. However, this franchise took a massive blow on Wednesday, as the team received concerning news regarding DeAndre Hopkins.

According to Adam Schefter, DeAndre Hopkins is likely to miss the remainder of the season. His sprained knee has become bad enough where the Cardinals' top receiver is going to miss some time.

This is brutal for a franchise fighting for the first seed in the NFC. The rest of the team must step up if the Cardinals hope to advance in the playoffs. It's a tall task, considering the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both playing their best football right now.

It's not all bad news though, as Schefter mentions the Cardinals are hopeful Hopkins will return in the postseason. All they have to do is lock up a playoff spot and they're good to go. Arizona is highly likely to make the postseason, so fans can take a small sigh of relief for now.

Either way, not having Hopkins in the lineup is not ideal. He's easily Kyler Murray's favorite target and is a difference-maker on the field. The Cardinals played well without Murray and Hopkins previously, so the coaching staff won't be lacking confidence in the team's ability to win games.

Keep an eye on DeAndre Hopkins and the Cardinals, as this team will attempt to earn the top seed without their superstar receiver. It'll be tough, but not impossible. As long as Kyler Murray can get back on track from his rough performance in Week 14, Arizona should be just fine.
