Arizona Cardinals star edge rusher Chandler Jones has to make good on a promise he made after J.J. Watt agreed to sign with the Cardinals on Monday.

Jones posted a screenshot of him sliding into Watt's DMs back in mid-February, offering to be the former Houston Texans star's personal chef if he came to Arizona. He tagged Watt and jokingly asked what the three-time Defensive Player of the Year wanted to eat:

It appears Jones had been doing some recruiting behind the scenes. He was not the only Cardinals player attempting to woo Watt.

DeAndre Hopkins posted an Instagram with this caption: “Let's finish what we started…” The former Texans teammates have been reunited, as are Watt and current Cardinals defensive coordinator Van Joseph, whom Watt played for in Houston.

Watt can have a major influence on Arizona's ability to get to the passer and disrupt matters in the backfield. But Jones' health will be every bit as important as the Cardinals lean on their dynamic duo to make plays.

Jones was named First-Team All-Pro after recording 19.0 sacks and a league-high eight forced fumbles in 2019. But he had just a single sack in five games last season before suffering a season-ending biceps injury. His ability to stay on the field will be vital for a Cardinals team desperate to win now.

Arizona has dangerous potential up front if both Jones and Watt are healthy and playing at a high level. Jones will apparently make sure Watt has good eats on deck as the two prepare to lead this new-look Cardinals defense in 2021.
