The Arizona Cardinals acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans on Monday, and Kyler Murray is thrilled about it.

The young quarterback took to Twitter afterward to express his feelings on the deal:

Suddenly, Murray has a rather formidable cast of weapons at his disposal.

Hopkins, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was originally selected by the Texans in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He had an impressive rookie campaign, catching 52 passes for 802 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Hopkins then broke out in his sophomore season, hauling in  76 receptions for 1,210 yards and six scores.

The 27-year-old continued to improve in 2015, snaring 111 balls for 1,521 yards while reaching the end zone 11 times en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Overall, Hopkins has earned four Pro Bowl selections, including an active streak of three straight. In addition, he has notched First-Team All-Pro honors three years in a row.

Most recently, the Central, S.C. native registered 104 grabs for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019.

The Texans traded Hopkins because they were unwilling to renegotiate his deal. He currently have three years and $40 million remaining on his contract and would like a raise, something the Cardinals will have to figure out.

Arizona traded running back David Johnson, a second-round draft pick and a fourth-rounder to Houston in exchange for Hopkins and a fourth-round pick.

The Cardinals went 5-10-1 in Murray's rookie campaign this past season, but now, things just got a whole lot more exciting in Arizona.
