Kyler Murray, who has recently announced his switch from baseball to football, is hoping that a Kliff Kingsbury endorsement means a Cardinals selection.

The Dallas News is reporting that Murray — who has a great relationship with the Cardinals head coach — wants nothing more than to get a proper offer from the team in the first round of the draft.

“I think, me and him are really tight. Great relationship with him. I think that was just something, he's always felt strongly about me as a player and as a kid off the field. At the end of the day, they're going to do what's best for them. I can't go into it with any expectations of being taken by the Cardinals. That would be nice for sure.”

Kyler Murray, of course, is aware that the Cardinals already have a quarterback in Josh Rosen. So even though Kliff Kingsbury called him a “freak” (in a good way) with regards to his athleticism, he's aware that he may not be chosen for the role of quarterback for Arizona.

“When he was coaching at Texas Tech back in late October, Kliff Kingsbury said he would take Kyler Murray with the first pick in the NFL Draft. After landing as the Arizona Cardinals coach after being fired at Tech, Kingsbury can now make good on that evaluation. The Cardinals have the first pick in the NFL Draft. If it happens, Murray would be just fine playing for Kingsbury.”

It should be interesting to see if Kyler Murray does, in fact, end up in Arizona and playing with the Cardinals.
