Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Crabtree will make his first appearance of the 2019 season on Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk. Crabtree was signed by the Cardinals late in the offseason, so he wasn't ready to play in Week 1, despite being completely healthy.
The Cardinals travel to meet the Baltimore Ravens, where Crabtree spent the 2018 season. The former Texas Tech Red Raider had only 607 receiving yards and three touchdowns during his Ravens tenure. This wasn't totally due to level of play, as Baltimore's offense was ridiculously run-heavy last year.
Crabtree joins a much better situation for himself in 2019. The Cardinals hired head coach Kliff Kingsbury, an Air Raid offense specialist. As the name implies, it's pretty big on passing.
A notable issue is that Crabtree won't be playing with an inspiring crop of pass-catchers. Legend Larry Fitzgerald headlines the group, and is followed by second-year wideout Christian Kirk. Fitzgerald isn't quite what he used to be, and Kirk is unproven. Crabtree will be placed above Kirk on the depth chart, and should see a significant target share.
While the receiving corps isn't great, they aren't the only position group that has question marks. Arizona's offensive line is notoriously bad, and it showed why during Week 1. Rookie quarterback Kyler Murray was sacked five times by a middling Detroit Lions defense. Since the Cardinals are going to face the Ravens on the road, there's good reason for concern. The Baltimore pass-rushers are no joke, so expect Kyler Murray to be running for his life most of Sunday.
