On Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Collin Sexton became the fourth-youngest player ever to start for the Cavs. Sexton is just 19 years and eight months old, and was only older than LeBron James, DaJuan Wagner, and Kyrie Irving as starters in team history.

Sexton, the young point guard who made waves nationally last year after leading Alabama to the NCAA Tournament, got the start in place of veteran George Hill, who was out with right shoulder soreness.

The Cavaliers lost the game at home to a surging Thunder team led by Paul George, but Sexton led Cleveland in scoring with 15 points on 50% from the field. Cleveland is really struggling at 1-10 on the season, and has a had a tumultuous start to the year.

After LeBron left in the offseason, the team still hoped to make the postseason with the rest of the roster, and some young talent like Sexton and Cedi Osman. Instead, the Cavs are the worst team in the NBA, with a brand new coach and reports of veterans not believing in Sexton as an NBA player.

The young point guard is very raw, new to the league, and quite frankly, is lacking a star to play with right now, with LeBron's departure and Kevin Love out with injury.

After Sexton's first start, the immediate future for the Cavaliers may be murky, but the future should be bright for Sexton and his work ethic at such a young age, as he continues to develop and learn more about the game at the highest level.
