Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love still has plenty left in the tank. However, after being nearly posterized by Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant, the Cavs veteran thought of retirement.

“The kid nearly jumped over me. I'm so glad he didn't finish it. Can you do a medical retire and still get all your money? I might've had to do that,” Love joked during a postgame huddle, per Spencer Davies of Basketball Insiders.

“That kid, he's unbelievably impressive. I really didn't think he was going to take off from there. … He legit jumped over me. It was just at the ver end he clipped me with his leg but I was so glad he missed that dunk. I looked back, I helped him up and just kind of — that my tip of the hat to him.”

After outscoring the Grizzlies by 13 points in the fourth quarter, the Cavs would come away with a 114-107 win to improve to 8-21 on the season. Despite being nearly put on a poster, Love impressed with 21 points and 13 rebounds in 28 minutes.

For Memphis, the team fell to 10-19 on the season. Their star rookie, Morant, finished with just eight points but added 11 assists and five rebounds.

As a whole, the rookie point guard out of Murray State has been impressive. In 22 games, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard is averaging 18.9 points, 6.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. It wasn't the first time Morant has tried putting an opposing player on a poster this season, and with his elite athleticism, it certainly won't be the last.
