Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum has been one of the big success stories of the season thus far. The 19-year-old forward has been a revelation by being an immediate contributor to the Celtics’ early-season success.

Much like the rest of the NBA community, Celtics big man Al Horford has been very impressed with what he’s seen from his young teammate, admitting that Tatum is far more advanced than what they expected him to be.

Just about everyone who’s come into contact with Tatum has come away with the same conclusion of him being so much better than anticipated despite being so young. That includes Horford, who said even before the season began that Tatum would be good as a rookie.

Tatum is averaging 13.7 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field and 48 percent from beyond the arc. His point and rebound totals may not seem particularly impressive, but the fact that he’s playing a significant role on the best team in the league thus far is what’s getting people’s attention.

The future is definitely bright for the Celtics if Tatum does continue to improve and becomes that much better than he already is in a couple of years as Horford warns.
