Marcus Smart, a restricted free agent this summer, has been the target of offers sent to the Boston Celtics coming from the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets for a sign-and-trade deal.

Per Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports, the Nets and Grizzlies have inquired about Smart, who is reportedly having a rough patch with the Celtics:

Reports reveal that Smart and the Celtics are not in communication with each other. Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe caught up with the 24-year-old. But he was rather unresponsive when asked about questions regarding the Celtics and his future with them. His responses, however, gave a clear sign that their relationship is not as healthy as it once was.

Asked on his status with the Celtics, Smart said:

“That’s what I want to know. I have no clue. I can only control what I can control.”

The report added:

When Smart was asked about whether there were indications that an offer sheet from another team could be coming, he said that he believed he would find out soon.

When he was asked if he was optimistic that he will receive a big offer, he responded simply, “I don’t know.”

Smart was then asked whether he hopes that this situation would be resolved quickly.

“I do,” he said. “But I can control what I can control.”

Recently, however, general manager Danny Ainge said that Smart is their priority, per CLNS Media Network:

“We’re all here watching all the teams play in the summer league, watching different guys work out. But our priority remains the same. Our priority is still Marcus in free agency, and that’s where we are.”

Marcus Smart, a crowd favorite in Boston, remains unclear of his future with the team that drafted him back in 2014.
