Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas says he would like to finish his career with the Boston Celtics at some point.

Thomas played three seasons for the Celtics and became a superstar in Beantown. He averaged a staggering a 28.9 points per game during the 2016-17 season and was in the MVP conversation.

Boston general manager Danny Ainge traded Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer of 2017 in the Kyrie Irving trade.

During the 2017 playoffs, two tough events happened to Isaiah Thomas.

First, Thomas tragically lost his sister in a car crash. The two-time All-Star still played for the franchise in the postseason.

Thomas also suffered a serious hip injury which has changed his NBA career. IT only played in 15 games with the Cavs before Cleveland traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Washington native just hasn't been the same player since the hip ailment.

Thomas underwent surgery on his hip last March. He signed a one-year free agent deal with the Nuggets last summer, reuniting him with Michael Malone who coached Thomas back when the two were with the Sacramento Kings.

The fans in Boston still love IT. If he does eventually play for the Celtics again, the crowd at the TD Garden would go crazy.
