The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets 2022 NBA Playoff series instantly got more interesting following the Nets' NBA Play-In Tournament win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brooklyn guard Bruce Brown told reporters that the Nets planned to go after Celtics big men Al Horford and Daniel Theis, the team's primary rim defenders without the injured Robert Williams III, who seemingly only has a small chance of returning for the series. Nets star Kevin Durant, immediately understanding the optics of the situation, chided Brown for potentially providing the Celtics with bulletin board material. Celtics star guard Jaylen Brown, asked how one responds to the Nets guard's comments, got honest on the NBA Playoff trash talk, as reported by Keith Smith of Celtics Blog.

The Celtics forward, when asked how one responds to the trash talk, said “you don't.” Brown wisely said that the best way to respond is through “action”, noting that Boston will be “ready to go” against the Nets.

That's exactly the kind of response Celtics fans wanted to hear from Brown. He didn't actively engage in any back-and-forth trash talk with Brown, but kept things focused on the task at hand.

Brown and Boston have the motivation of attempting to avenge last year's playoff loss to Brooklyn. Thanks to Brown, they also have the fuel of proving he and the Nets wrong.
