It seems safe to say that the Boston Celtics' young duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is coming along pretty nicely.

On Friday night, Tatum and Brown put forth their latest strong performance as a tandem, with Tatum scoring 26 points and Brown adding 21 in a 108-95 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Afterward, Brown joked about his relationship with Tatum:

“At first, I didn't like JT. Nah, I'm just playing,” said Brown, according to Nicole Yang of The Boston Globe. “That's my guy. He's a good dude.”

Brown then said that he and Tatum are like fire and ice, per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe. He said he isn't sure which player represents which element but that it “sounds cool.”

Both Tatum and Brown are averaging at least 20 points apiece this season, with Tatum registering 21.2 points per game and Brown recording 20 on the dot.

This is certainly a welcome change from a year ago, when the pair of youngsters struggled to find their footing on a Celtics team that was loaded with talent and could never quite put it together.

This season appears to be a different story, as Boston has gotten off to a 16-5 start and will be getting star forward Gordon Hayward back from a fractured hand sometime soon.

Brown also received a four-year, $115 million contract extension from the C's just before the season started, and he has been worth every penny of it thus far, as he is shooting 49.6 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent from three-point range.

The Celtics will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.
