Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown escaped a very serious injury on Thursday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves as he hit the back of his head and neck right on the floor. Brown initially was on the floor for a very long time as both teams stood quietly waiting for movement. A sigh of relief would hit the whole arena as Brown showed movement and leave the game.

According to NBA writer of the Boston Globe Gary Washburn, the Celtics have officially put Jaylen Brown in concussion protocol. He will be missing some time.

It was a very nasty fall as it seemed the worse had come for the guard. It was a dunk that led to this accident as Brown crashed hard on the floor after he slipped off the rim on a two-handed dunk. Brown had been slowly getting more minutes on the court as well as he's been on a tear the past week.

On the season Brown is averaging 31 minutes per game, 14 points, 5 rebounds on 46 percent shooting from the floor. The 21-year-old is off to a promising start in the league as every NBA fan is glad to see the young player walking and only in concussion protocol.

Brown's absence should open up the door for additional minutes for Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier. Boston still needs to make a strong push for the top seed in the Eastern Conference as both these players need to step up during the absence of Brown. Boston is currently two games behind the Toronto Raptors.
