Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown never played under Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. However, what might be new knowledge for some is the fact that Brown actually shares a bit of a historic connection with the  Dubs shot-caller.

On Wednesday ahead of the Celtics' Game 1 matchup against the Warriors in the NBA Finals, Brown spoke out about how he used to be teammates with Kerr's son, Nick Kerr, in college at the University of California, Berkeley:

“Between Steph, Klay, and Draymond, they're probably the most winningest basketball players in this last 10 years era,” Brown said, via NBA on Twitter. “Watching, learning studying, being here at Cal in Berkeley, going to a lot of games, being on the floor — Nick Kerr was my teammate, which was Steve Kerr's son. Before I got to the NBA I got to talk to those guys, etcetera.”

As it turns out, Jaylen Brown has been doing his homework on Kerr and the Warriors for many years now. He may have gotten a bit of insider knowledge as well courtesy of Nick Kerr.

Now it's time for Brown and the rest of the Celtics to put all their preparations to the test as they take on a powerhouse Warriors side on the biggest stage of basketball. Game 1 is on Thursday and we definitely expect fireworks.
