Jaylen Brown just agreed to a hefty four-year, $115 million contract extension with the Boston Celtics. When news broke out, Jayson Tatum and Isaiah Thomas immediately congratulated their good friend.

Through his Instagram story, Tatum congratulated Brown and noted that dinner will be on him next time.

Thomas, who was teammates with Brown when he was with the Celtics, also congratulated him. Funny enough, IT called Brown his “ugly ass friend.”

According to reports, Brown's extension has $103 million in guaranteed money. The other $12 million is worked into likely and unlikely incentives.

Celtics general manager and President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge has continually praised Brown for his improvement throughout the years. The deal firmly establishes Brown as one of the key pillars of the Celtics squad.

Brown, 22, enters his fourth NBA season with the Celtics, holding career averages of 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.4 minutes over 222 career games (115 starts).

He already has a significant playoff experience, most especially in the 2018 postseason when he averaged 18.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in 18 games (15 starts).

Apart from his deal which will certainly serve as a form of motivation, his experience with Team USA will also be imperative. As such, Celtics fans should expect a new and improved Brown this year.
