Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker is aiming toward a return from a knee injury next week. He has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets, but head coach Brad Stevens says he's set to ramp up his workload over the weekend, according to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston.

Walker could be on a minutes limit when he comes back from injury, per Stevens. However, the goal is to have him feeling 100 percent when he finally returns to the court, according to Brian Robb of The Boston Sports Journal.

The Celtics have had Walker on the shelf for a while, initially for three games at the start of February and then leaving again after four games. The 6-foot point guard has missed the last four games and is bound to miss eight of the Celtics' 12 February games.

Walker is one of three Celtics averaging 20 points per game or more, putting up 21.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game this season.

The Celtics have yet to skip a beat this month, winning 11 of their last 13 games and rising to the third spot in the East after battling a few skids in January.

Walker's return should help the Celtics keep up that steady pace and give the Toronto Raptors a run for their money in their quest to hold on to the second seed in the East.

The Milwaukee Bucks seem to have the top spot locked down. They're already eight games ahead of the Raptors. With one game of difference separating Boston and Toronto, the Celtics could make a late-season push to set themselves up with some sound home-court advantage.
