Former NBA veteran Glen Davis had a rude awakening during his first days as a member of the Boston Celtics back in 2007. During a pickup game, he reportedly got into an exchange with a tenured veteran in Kevin Garnett who was already the star of the Celtics team back then, via Fubo Sports.

Due to the stature of the Big Ticket in the league, Davis feared that he might get cut by the team after their altercation. The following night, Garnett didn't speak a word to Davis which led the latter to call his mom and ask for help.

The LSU product eventually had the courage to walk up to Garnett in his locker room. Contrary to his initial expectation, the veteran star accepted the apology of Davis and affirmed that he has nothing to worry about. The incident proved to be a turning point for their relationship as they eventually hit the ground running as teammates since then.

In just his rookie campaign, Davis became part of a Celtics squad that reached the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Garnett served as one of the key pieces of the team while Davis came off the bench and served as a reliever to the star forward.

The Celtics successfully notched their 17th title after defeating the Lakers in Game 6 of the championship series. Davis only stayed in Boston for a span of four seasons as he was eventually traded to the Orlando Magic midway through the 2011-12 season.

In the end, the courage that Glen Davis showed to Kevin Garnett allowed him to earn his stripes and ultimately proved that he can stand his ground against grown men in the league.
