The Boston Celtics added a huge piece to their roster earlier this month, pulling off a blockbuster trade for Malcolm Brogdon. The former Indiana Pacers guard is undoubtedly excited to be on a championship contender and he's even willing to make a major sacrifice in order to win his first ring.

Brogdon hopped on The Woj Pod on Monday and revealed that Brad Stevens told his agent he'd like the former ROTY to come off the bench in 2022-23. Brogdon's reaction says it all.

Malcolm Brogdon on Woj Pod says Brad Stevens told his agent he wanted Brogdon to embrace 6th man role.

“I really want to get back to winning on a high level, I want to win a championship. So whatever I can sacrifice to get back to that championship level, I’m willing to do it.”

A true team-first guy. Brogdon has been a starter his entire career basically but with Marcus Smart running the point and Jaylen Brown accompanying him in the Celtics backcourt, there isn't exactly room for the 29-year-old to be a regular in the first unit.

However, Boston has limited bench depth, especially at PG. Brogdon will have the opportunity to essentially run the second unit and if all goes well, he could be a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, as long as he stays healthy.

Malcolm Brogdon has only played a total of 146 games across the last three seasons due to injuries. He suited up just 36 times in 2021-22, mainly due to an Achilles issue, averaging 19.1 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.1 rebounds. The ex-Virginia standout is a versatile offensive weapon and typically shoots it well from deep, posting a career 37.6% three-point clip.

There were rumblings for many months that Brogdon may end up in Boston and now it's a reality. Let's hope he can help the C's get back to the Finals in 2023.
