The Boston Celtics are 2-0 against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. And, things just seem to be getting better and better for the Boston team.

News broke Friday that Robert Williams would be returning to the lineup. The starting center hasn't played since he suffered a torn meniscus back on March 27. It's safe to say that Boston fans and Williams' teammates are excited to welcome him back.

Williams “looks great” from what Celtics guard Marcus Smart has seen. This is high praise after he missed nearly a month of action, especially coming from the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Athletic's Jay King tweeted Smart's full quote Saturday morning.

If Williams can play at the caliber he did throughout the regular season, he'll be a huge addition to the Celtics. The 24-year-old averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 9.6 rebounds prior to his injury in late-March.

Daniel Theis has filled in as the starting center in Boston's first two postseason games. Fortunately for Williams, the Theis Celtics have been able to hold down the fort amid his absence. They have the 2-0 lead over the Nets, giving him a decent margin for error and growing pains as he rejoins the lineup.

For Game 3, Williams will play limited minutes. However, expect to see the center play more and more as the series and the remainder of the playoffs continue.
