Former Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier has nothing but praises for former teammate Isaiah Thomas.

In an interview with Jonathan Abrams of Bleacher Report, Rozier said that he has high level of respect for Thomas. He said that Thomas is a “true Celtic” because of the way he handled himself during his three-season stint in Boston. Rozier was impressed of how Thomas overcame a lot of adversities to make an impact in Boston.

“He was a true warrior, a true Celtic,” Rozier said. “Six-hour surgeries on his tooth, sister died, playing the next day, scoring 53 points. Leaving his heart out there, crying on the court and all. Anything you can think of, him getting shots in his hip right before the game, taking away the pain.”

Rozier added that if there is someone that he respects the most in the NBA, it would be Thomas. He also shared that most of the time, while most of his teammates are playing around in plane trips, the former All-Star point guard is just watching videos, looking for areas that he needs to work on.

Both Thomas and Rozier will be entering a new chapter of their respective careers. Thomas ended up with the Denver Nuggets after unsuccessful stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets after he was traded by Boston in 2017. Rozier, on the other hand, signed with the Charlotte Hornets this summer.
