Chandler Parsons found himself a max-contract this free agency, despite everyone's doubt. After an injury-riddeled time with the Dallas Mavericks, the Memphis Grizzles organization felt they could utilize Parsons as a much more valuable asset to the team.

“This is the guy we've been seeking for a number of years,”  commented Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace. “He fits the description for that perimeter star to a T that we've been searching so aggressively for for so many years.”

With this change in teams, Parsons feels as though he illustrates why basketball is in primary motivator to continue in this league. The glitz and glamour can become fun and even distracting at times, but Parsons knows this is not an issue for him.

“I think it's kind of strange when players get knocked for having off-the-court marketing deals. I enjoy that kind of stuff, but at the same time, I understand that I don't have any of that without basketball,” Parsons remarked. “Me making this decision to come to Memphis should show everybody that basketball is obviously my No. 1 priority.”

The pieces look to have fallen in place for Parsons to have a memorable season. Hopefully he can avoid injury that plagued his experience with the Mavs.
