The last thing the Los Angeles Chargers want right now is another injury to any of their key players.

However, that’s precisely what they have to deal with today after seeing star defensive end Joey Bosa walk off the field during practice with an apparent left foot injury, according to Eric D. Williams of ESPN.

Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa suffered a left foot injury during the 11-on-11 team drills in practice on Tuesday.

Afterward, Bosa hobbled off the field on his own and spent the rest of practice receiving treatment from the team's training staff.

The 23-year-old pass rusher has been among the best quarterback takedown artists since he being selected third overall by the Chargers back in the 2016 NFL Draft. Despite missing his first four games as a professional due to a hamstring issue,  Bosa managed to register 10.5 sacks to his name. The following year, he made it to his Pro Bowl after recording 12.5 sacks while playing in all 16 regular season games.

Bosa carries the identity of the Chargers’ stop unit, so losing him for any stretch would feel like a blow to the gut of Los Angeles.

Bosa does not seem to be severely hurt, as he was able to walk off the field under his own power. According to Adam Schefter, one source downplayed the extent of Bosa’s injury.

This latest development could also snuff out any chances of Bosa playing any games in the preseason. The Chargers will begin their preseason campaign this Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals on the road.
