After a tumultuous first season for Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea is looking to send him on loan to Inter Milan and it appears Thomas Tuchel is keen on one particular striker to replace him: Robert Lewandowski, per ESPN. The Bayern Munich talisman is very unhappy in Germany and wants to leave this summer, with Barcelona already putting a three-year deal on the table. But, Tuchel believes Lewandowski would thrive at Stamford Bridge and be the answer to the club's attacking woes.

That being said, getting both of these deals is going to be tough. First, Inter doesn't have the finances to buy Lukaku from Chelsea, with only a loan spell being discussed. As for Lewa, Bayern has made it crystal clear he needs to see out the final year of his contract before becoming a free agent next summer.

Lukaku scored just eight Premier League goals in 26 appearances last term after the Blues splashed over $100 million on him last August. Lewandowski meanwhile, led the Germany top flight with 35 goals in what was yet another impressive campaign for the Poland international.

Chelsea desperately wants to find a No. 9 to fit into the side. They showed interest in Erling Haaland but failed to compete with Manchester City for his signature due to the UK government's sanctions against them over Roman Abramovich's connection to Russian president Vladimir Putin. To put their attacking struggles into perspective, Lukaku was their leading goal-scorer in 2021-22.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can even negotiate with Bayern for Lewandowski.
