Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire hasn't played since Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills because of an MCL sprain. However, there's some good news on that injury front this week, as the Chiefs designated Edwards-Helaire to return to practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.

Kyle Long was also back at practice.

Kansas City has been struggling on offense of late, so getting Edwards-Helaire back into the fold would be a nice boost. The running back's return to practice on Wednesday doesn't necessarily mean he'll be playing this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football, but it seems as if he's close to a return to the field.

The Chiefs running back had consecutive 100-yard rushing performances before the injury against the Bills. Darrel Williams has been getting the bulk of the work with Edwards-Helaire sidelined.

Kansas City sits at a mediocre 5-4 on the season. The normally explosive offense has really sputtered of late, with Patrick Mahomes looking nothing like his usual dominant self. While it has been a struggle for the Chiefs, they're still right there in the mix in the AFC West. This upcoming showdown against the Raiders will be a big game.
