After a long wait, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon put an end to his receiving touchdown drought.

During the second quarter of the Chiefs' 48-9 blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders, quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with Gordon for a 1-yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs opened up a 28-0 lead with this pivotal touchdown.

This touchdown reception was a long time coming for Gordon, as it was his first such catch since Week 1 of the 2019 season, where he featured for the New England Patriots against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After the Chiefsā€™ AFC West home win over the Raiders, Gordon opened up on just what it meant to haul in this second quarter touchdown reception.

ā€œIt's exciting,ā€ Gordon said. ā€œIt's rewarding.ā€

Gordon has had quite a past few years, from the suspensions due to violating the NFLā€™s substance-abuse policy to even featuring in the Fan Controlled League earlier this year.

Overall, Gordon has had his fair share of ups and downs over his campaign with the Chiefs. He did come into Week 14 with a mere two receptions recorded, and he featured in 26 percent of snaps on offense. But at the least, he now has his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Gordon finished with two receptions, nine receiving yards and the one receiving touchdown against the Raiders.
