With the Kansas City Chiefs preparing to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game, it appears that Patrick Mahomes could have a key playmaker back on the field. Wide receiver Mecole Hardman has returned to practice.

Mecole Hardman last took the field in week nine when the Chiefs took on the Tennessee Titans. He has since been sidelined with a pelvic injury.

Hardman was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice. He was also the only Chiefs player that wasn't a full participant. Every other player on the roster appears ready to go for Sunday.

When healthy, Hardman has been a key component of the Chiefs offense. In the eight games that he played, he has recorded 25 receptions for 297 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns on 34 total targets. On the ground, Hardman added four carries for 31 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Over the last three games that he played, Hardman totaled 181 yards from scrimmage and five total touchdowns.

As Mahomes and the Chiefs prepare to take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals, they will need to be at full force on both sides of the ball. Having Mecole Hardman back in the mix could be exactly what they need on Sunday.

In the absence of Hardman, the rest of the Chiefs offense has stepped up in a big way. With one of the NFL’s best in Mahomes leading the charge, this group can take on anyone. But if they hope to take down the Bengals, they will have to be ready to go. This could very well be one of the most explosive matchups of the season.
