The Kansas City Chiefs have set the standard in the AFC since Patrick Mahomes took over as the quarterback, and that hasn't been lost on Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow. The Chiefs will meet the Bengals in the conference championship game Sunday evening, and it marks the fifth straight time Kansas City is hosting the game.

As Cincinnati prepares to be the Chiefs' opponent for the second straight year, Joe Burrow wanted to send a message, letting Kansas City know he and the Bengals are a threat, per Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

This is high praise coming from Burrow, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was hiding behind how he really feels. Even with the Chiefs going to five straight AFC title games, the Bengals are the ones who were in the Super Bowl last season. The defending conference champs went through Kansas City to get there, and they have beaten the Chiefs three straight times.

All season, Cincinnati has heard the talk about them being a one-year flash of success. People have said last year was a fluke, and it would be a miracle if they came close to making another postseason run like the one they had a season ago. They felt disrespected from the talk about the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills meeting in a neutral site for the conference title, and Burrow was the one who told the fans who bought tickets to the potential matchup to go get refunds.

In other words, Burrow is stating what many of us already know. He and the Bengals are coming, and if they beat Kansas City Sunday, it'll be hard not to say they're here.
